This article explains how to factory reset your Grandstream HT801 or HT802 Analogue Telephone Adapter, also known as an ATA.
A factory reset returns the device to its default settings. You may need to do this if Telqaris support asks you to reset the device, if the ATA is not behaving as expected, or if it needs to be reprovisioned for your phone service.
Best for: Phone
Estimated time: 5 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
You may need: A paperclip, pin, or similar small object to press the reset button
Quick Answer
To factory reset a Grandstream HT801 or HT802 ATA, unplug the Ethernet cable, locate the reset hole on the back of the device, press and hold the reset button for around 7 seconds, then release it.
The device will return to factory default settings and may need to be set up again before your phone service works.
Before You Start
Before following the steps below, check:
You are resetting the correct Grandstream HT801 or HT802 device.
You have been asked to reset the device by Telqaris support, or you understand that the device may need to be set up again afterwards.
The device is powered on and you have a working internet connection connected to the device.
You have a paperclip, pin, or similar small object available.
You know where the Ethernet cable is connected, so you can reconnect it afterwards.
Safety Note
A factory reset removes the current settings from the Grandstream ATA. After the reset, your phone service may not work until the device has been reprovisioned or reconfigured.
Do not factory reset the device unless Telqaris support has asked you to do so, or you are confident that the device should be returned to default settings.

Step 2: Unplug the Ethernet cable
Unplug the Ethernet cable from the Internet or LAN port on the Grandstream ATA.
This is the network cable that connects the ATA to your router, firewall, switch, or wall network socket.

Leave the power cable connected unless Telqaris support tells you otherwise.
Step 3: Find the reset hole

Step 6: Reconnect the Ethernet cable
Plug the Ethernet cable back into the Internet or LAN port on the Grandstream ATA.
Wait a few minutes for the device to reconnect to the network.

If the phone service works:
No further action is needed.
If the phone service does not work:
The ATA may need to be reprovisioned or checked by Telqaris support.
